Celebrating Ellie

I can't believe that it's been a whole year of living without our Ellie. I never thought that I would survive it- but we did. I'm not really sure how, but I know that it was in big part to our friends and family. This weekend was no exception... My cousin and her son came to stay with us for the weekend, friends and family took Monday off from work and their life, and came to spend the day with us, donated Buddies to Ellie's Light, help us send off balloons and lanterns, work on Ellie's Light memory pouches... we received many calls, text messages and pictures from people letting us know they were thinking of us, and more importantly, Ellie.
I can't even say how much all of things mean to us. After a child dies, most parents just want to know that people aren't going to forget, and after the last few days, we have no doubt that Ellie is remembered. So thank you, THANK YOU, to everyone who has supported us in the last few days!

I have a lot of pictures to share from the last few days, so settle in!

On Sunday, the 23rd, we wanted to take the boys outside for a little bit so we went to nearby greenhouse to pick out some pumpkins and play... I was a little nervous because the 23rd was the last day we had with Ellie before she got sick, and we went to the same place where we took the kids to get pumpkins last year, but it went fine and the boys had fun!

Is that Max letting another child near him and hold his hand?? Why yes it is!!!

On the 24th, some people came over to help us starting organizing the stuffed animals memory pouches. We got a lot of work done in Ellie's name!
273 Buddies so far!!! So amazing!

Later that evening we had a lighted balloon release and wish lantern release for our girl- it was so pretty!

Beautiful tribute to a beautiful baby. I know you don't know me, but please know that you, Dave, Max and Ellie are in my prayers every day. All the way from Illinois, you have people who think of you daily. I saw this little poem today, and I thought of you.

"Remembering you is easy
I do it everyday
missing you is the heartache
that never goes away."

Ellie's light will certainly shine on!
Hugs to you!

I have to say.. last night was a tough night. I started reading your blog from the first entry. I only got to her first bday blog. I prayed last night to dream of Ellie and I told her that it would be an honor to meet her one day! What a sweet baby girl you have in Heaven.

Tiffany, I would like to mail you something as soon as i get it. Would you please email at macuil1120@gmail.com. or martinezmacuil@yahoo.com

Seeing these pictures makes me happy and sad all at once. Happy to see you so supported and to see your amazing family and friends. Sad because Ellie is missing growing up in the midst of this awesome crew. Fly high, little angel. Your mama and daddy are honoring you in such a wonderful way, by supporting others. I love what you do, Tiffany. You see where things are lacking and you take action to prevent future suffering of others. If everyone had this attitude, the world would be an infinitely better place. Your Ellie will never be forgotten.

Beautiful pictures. How did you do lighted balloons? We're having a release the day after Thanksgiving for my friend's baby and it'll probably be dark. Max looks so big now, I didn't even recognize him!
