Light Up the Lanes & Ellie's news story

We couldn't have been more thrilled about how our Light Up the Lanes event went on July 12th. We had about 205 people in attendance, which was about two more times than we had planned for! In the end, we raised about $6500 for Ellie's Light. This money will go towards supporting families who have a critically ill child in the PICU and those who are experiencing the loss of a child. We are hoping to get memory pouches made in the next couple months!
Our event included bowling, a silent auction, raffle, photo booth and face painting. We had so many friends, family members and strangers at the event, and it was so great to hear so many people saying Ellie's name and looking at her pictures. A local radio station, 93X not only supported us with many silent auction and raffle items, but advertised Light Up the Lanes on radio. Also, a news reporter from KSTP, our local news station, came to our house and interviewed Dave and I, and then came to the event. Ellie's story aired later that night on the 10pm news... Here is a link to the story:

Tiffany,

That looks spectacular. There isn't a doubt in my mind that your little girl is remembered and feeling ever-so-loved.

You're incredible parents. Thanks for sharing your heart with the rest of us.

OH how I wish I had known about The Light UP The Lanes event. We actually live in Lakeville! I'm new to Faces of Loss, Faces of Hope site, but not new to loss. We have 4 angel babies waiting for us in heaven. What you are doing with your grief is so encouraging and inspiring!

Natasha ~ So sad I missed getting to meet you in person ... will have to settle for enjoying your pictures and blog thru Illuminate :-)

Prayers and Blessings ~ HeatherDawn
