Crib Songs

Max still sleeps in the crib (and he loves it!), I always knew that Ellie would be done with her crib before Max... She was so curious and not at all patient. She wanted to be out in the world and never wanted to miss a thing. As soon as she was big enough, she would have figured out how to swing her chubby little leg over the rail and shimmy on down. I can just picture the mischievous grin on her face when we would come up to bust her...
Tonight Dave took apart Ellie's crib... Not exactly what I was thinking when I thought she would be done with her crib first. Knowing the crib was coming down hit me a lot harder than I thought it would. I thought the hardest part would be putting her clothes away. But cribs are only supposed to be taken apart when big kid beds are needed, not because the baby is no longer alive...
I hope we are making the right decision in moving... I hope it doesn't make Ellie feel that much farther away. I don't really see how she could feel any further away than she already does anyways... oh Peanut, I miss you so much!

********************

It's funny how since Ellie died, almost every song on the radio, has lyrics that seem to be speaking directly to me... I may have to just put in the Wonder Pets CD every time we get in the car from now on...

More six month pictures

"'Cause you can't jump the track, we're like cars on a cable
And life's like an hourglass, glued to the table
No one can find the rewind button, girl.
So cradle your head in your hands
And breathe... just breathe,
Oh breathe, just breathe..."

"The path that I'm walkin', I must go alone
I must take the baby steps 'til I'm full grown, full grown
Fairy tales don't always have a happy ending, do they?"

"What am I supposed to do when the best part of me was always you,
And what am I supposed to say when I'm all choked up and you're ok
I'm falling to pieces, yeah,
I'm falling to pieces..."

"But we both know how,
How we're gonna make it work when it hurts,
When you pick yourself up,
You get kicked to the dirt,

Trying to make it work but,

Man these times are hard"

"The scars of your love remind me of us
They keep me thinking that we almost had it all
The scars of your love, they leave me breathless
I can't help feeling
We could have had it all"

"I'll keep you locked in my head
Until we meet again...
Until we meet again...
And I won't forget you my friend
What happened...

If someone said three years from now
You'd be long gone
I'd stand up and punch them out
Cause they're all wrong and
That last kiss
I'll cherish
Until we meet again
And time makes
It harder
I wish I could remember
But I keep
Your memory
You visit me in my sleep
My darling
Who knew"

Loved Ellie's 6 month pictures. I find alot of my thoughts and expressions through music as well. So sorry that taking her crib down was so hard. I can imagine that leaving "her" house is hard but she will always be with you, wherever you are.

I posted those lyrics to The Script song right after Adam passed on Facebook. It makes me think of him every time I hear it. So many songs get to me now. I'm thinking about you and the move and that whole process. Lots of love and hugs.
